Street skating is a sport with a multitude of variations. Although in each of its styles it has not stopped evolving, it is true that it has been a long time since we have seen a new way of skating and enjoying skates. This new trend is popularly known as Wizard Skating and is becoming a phenomenon in the freeskate, aggressive and urban skating scene.
What is Wizard Skating?
Wizard skating is something difficult to define. It is a mix between aggressive skating, figure skating and freeskate. It is characterized mainly by using skates with relatively long guides or chassis of 4 or 5 wheels from 80mm to 100mm with a slight rockering at the ends. That is, the wheels at the ends are slightly higher than those in the center. With this you get a lot of maneuverability to perform all kinds of tricks and turns, but being a relatively long chassis, you have enough stability.
But where did Wizard Skating come from?
The origin of the Wizard Skating is precisely due to the creator of the Wizard chassis brand, Leon Basin, who considered that a chassis with a light rocker but with at least 4 90mm wheels was needed to enjoy skating to the fullest. What started as something anecdotal for a small group of skaters, has become a trend among skaters of other disciplines such as aggressive skating or freeskate, creating a whole world of new moves and tricks.
Today, there are several brands such as NN, Endless, Wizzard Skates or, Flying Eagle, among others, that have joined the new trend, creating high quality products, each with their own particularities.
What skates do I need to practice Wizard Skating?
The most important thing to practice Wizzard Skating is a rocker frame of a certain length. In Freestyle Slalom, rockered chassis are also used, but very short, to achieve maximum maneuverability in a small space. Wizzard Skating is also looking for a lot of freedom of movement but with more stability to be able to do jumps and skill tricks.

As for the boot, hard freeskate or aggressive boots are usually used. In other words, boots with very good ankle support and that will stand up to rough treatment.
What can you do with Wizard Skating skates?
The answer would be shorter if we were asked what you can’t do with Wizzard style skates. With Wizzard Skating chassis or skates you can go on the road, jump, dance, skid and, in short, anything that crosses your mind. This modality is relatively new, so we will still see a lot of evolution among its practitioners.
Here are a couple of videos to give you an idea. (Spoiler alert: If you see them, you’ll want to go out on the street right away to practice Wizzard Skating!!!) š
Where to buy skates or chassis for Wizzard Skating?
This answer is very easy: at Inercia.com !!!!
As we mentioned at the beginning, there are many brands on the market, some of which are very artisanal and make high quality products, but because they are manufactured on such a small scale, their price is very high.
In Inercia we have opted for the Liberty chassis of the Flying Eagle brand that besides being mega robust and high quality, its price is one of the most economical on the market.
