Although there are many types of skates on the market, there are two types of inline skates, fitness skates and freeskate skates, which often raise doubts when choosing our first skates. The question is: what type of skate is best for me? Will I feel better in fitness skates or freeskate skates? Which are the best to start skating?
Fitness Skates, comfort first and foremost

If there’s one thing fitness skates excel at, it’s that they ‘re usually tremendously comfortable. Being a soft boot construction, it is much more difficult for any part of the skate structure to dig into the foot. They also usually have longer chassis, so we will have more stability at medium-high speeds and the rolling will be smoother. Finally, they are usually very well ventilated, which is appreciated in hot months. Of course, since the boot is softer, it will not give us the support that a rigid boot skate can give us.

Freeskate skates, the versatility that the urban skater needs.

Freeskate skates are very popular due to their great versatility. They can be used for just about anything: jumping, skidding, touring, transportation, slalom, etc. This is achieved by having a rigid plastic housing and short, robust chassis. These skates are ideal for urban use, i.e., moving through both human and motor traffic in our city.

Which skates are better for me, freeskate or fitness skates?
The answer to this question is complicated and there are sometimes conflicting views on the subject. Some people will tell you that fitness skates are the worst because they don’t support your foot. This statement is based mainly on ignorance. Obviously, a poor quality fitness skate provides worse support than a basic Freeskate skate. But what they don’t realize is that a poor quality Freeskate skate can destroy your feet.
There are many types of fitness skates and, as in everything, there are better and worse. What is clear is that if what you like is to do miles, get in shape or enjoy a quiet ride with skates, fitness skates are much more grateful.
On the other hand, if you like to give your skates a rough treatment, street, jump and do a little bit of everything, Freeskate inline skates are your thing!
